{"id":2515,"date":"2020-11-08T15:42:02","date_gmt":"2020-11-08T20:42:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/walkuproslindale.org\/weblog\/?p=2515"},"modified":"2020-11-08T15:42:40","modified_gmt":"2020-11-08T20:42:40","slug":"washington-street-outbound-bus-bike-lane-work-starts-tonight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/walkuproslindale.org\/weblog\/2020\/11\/08\/washington-street-outbound-bus-bike-lane-work-starts-tonight\/","title":{"rendered":"Washington Street Outbound Bus\/Bike Lane Work Starts Tonight!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are quite happy to learn that the Boston Transportation Department is beginning striping work for the Washington Street\/Roslindale Outbound Bus\/Bike Lane. <a href=\"https:\/\/walkuproslindale.org\/weblog\/2018\/10\/07\/walkup-comment-letter-on-washington-street-bus-lane\/\">We have long pushed<\/a> for both an evening-outbound and morning-inbound bus\/bike lane and hope that finally achieving both goals will be transformational for Rozzie mass transit users as well as cyclists.<\/p>\n<p>A few notes on what to expect over the next few weeks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Striping Work is anticipated to begin on Sunday, November 8 at 8 PM.<\/li>\n<li>BTD will be striping a new bus\/bike lane and adding new signage.<\/li>\n<li>Work will be phased to minimize disruptions during peak hours.<\/li>\n<li>Plans are in place to manage traffic and ensure safety during road work.<\/li>\n<li>The new lane is anticipated to be operational on Monday, November 16th for the evening commute.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We&#8217;ve also agreed to help distribute <a href=\"http:\/\/walkuproslindale.org\/pdf\/2020-11-08 Roslindale Outbound Bus-Bike Lane Update.pdf\">a BTD flyer in both English and Spanish<\/a> concerning the bus lane work.
